Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with preventative maintenance of heavy equipment, mobile conveyor belts, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and light-duty trucks
- Inspect, service, grease and lubricate equipment and automotive components; and change oils and filters on a scheduled basis
- Identify and document equipment defects and performance deficiencies; complete inspection sheets and work orders to track parts usage
- Utilize FIXX MMS system to maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop
- Perform service calls as needed across terminal locations
- Assist with transloading, rail car moving, and other terminal operations as needed
- Any other duties assigned by the Terminal Manager
Qualifications
- Two to three years of hands-on experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems preferred
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with proficiency in basic math and computer systems
- Commitment to upholding Twin Eagle’s safety culture, including participation in safety training programs and safe handling of hazardous materials
- Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
- Able to complete all required paperwork legibly, accurately, and on time
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with team members and third-party personnel
- Must have a record of safe and competent driving (personal and commercial) as demonstrated on state Motor Vehicle Records
- Must be available to work weekends, overtime, and holidays. May work irregular schedule based on operational needs
The physical demands below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and crawl to perform maintenance tasks
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of tools and equipment unassisted
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, rail cars, and other equipment up to 50 feet in height
- Navigate terminal grounds including areas with heavy equipment and loose rock
- Frequently reach overhead and work above shoulder level
- Work outdoors and be subject to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
